My orb arrived in a box, it had foam on the top and the bottom to protect it. The orb was already put together. It is mad of multiple glass circles of white, light blue and dark blue. In the top is a solar like cork, and thick durable rope for hanging. You can hang or sit this down on the ground. I choose to hang mine. At night the solar light turns on and it makes beautiful patterns with its lighted glass. This is so a beautiful decorative light to have. I received this product for free for my honest unbiased opinion.
